Another year has rolled around as has another Heritage Village display day. and a
As per usual we put on a great show of models.
This one was a little different as we weren't in the middle of the paddock as in previous years.
We had a great position this year right next to the dolls house with the main road passing right out front.
This gave us fantastic exposure to the passing patrons who often only got halfway past and were drawn in by the club's 60th anniversary DVD.
John Muscat was kind enough to bring along a tv and dvd player to show the public just what it is we get up to at our field.

We fielded the usual questions like..."are they real??"...."do they actually fly??"...."can i launch a rocket/missile/RPG/my mother-in-law from these things??"
Another interesting comment made about the larger models on display was.."i could near on put my cat/dog/budgie/kids in that it's so big!!"

All in all we had a great time explaining what it is we do for fun within our club.
Jason also brought along 100 club flyers that we all had a go at folding up to hand out to the more interested patrons. (these were gone in the first 2 hours ..wm)

I think next year perhaps some sort of actual flying display might be worth doing.....we will see what happens....

The Pics

All the crew were there getting ready for a busy day.

They were probably discussing where John had got to.

This year we were right in the thick of it.

The gates are opened and people immediately start to stop and ask questions.

We found John and put him to work handing out brochures.

I don't think we had anyone wander by without stopping for a gander.
"it can swing a prop THIS big..." fishermen aren't the only ones with tall tails.
By that loook we might see him out at the field in a few years.
The small kids were as fasinated as the larger kids.
"What's it made of ? "
"Does it fly ?"
And all other manner of questions were answered.
Jason did a top job of answering questions and discussing the models on display for the entire morning.
