With Serious Tropical Cyclone Hamish heading down the coast from Mackay, the wind was not as bad as expected.
Steady but strong all weekend, with a few light showers Saturday night and later Sunday

Rory and Cath Birch organised feeding everyone and found quite a few willing vollunteers to assist.

QMARA were testing the new electronic timing system, which seemed to go smoothly all weekend and gave instant feedback on race results.

The weather arrived exactly as ordered for the whole weekend with plenty of sunshine and very light breezes only blowing up in the afternoons.

Team Welburn was on sight all weekend entertaining the masses when they were not feeding them.

QMARA were, as always I am told, exceptionally well organised, with all the cages and judges setup and ready to race by 9am Saturday morning.

First up was the spectacular F3D class. Chris Callow, the current World Champion, displayed what it was all about with a time equal to the current world record. The sheer speed of these machines has to be seen to be believed.

A couple of our own racers were mixing it up with the best, and Rory Birch came in a very respectable 4th place, just checkout the company he was racing against.
David McKenzie was in there fighting until squeezed into the ground, but only minor damage I am told (other than to his ego) and will be back for the next chance to race.
