Old Timer (Texaco)
The Texaco competition was well attended with 6 Rockhampton, 3 Serina and 1 Mackay Flyers.
The weather was variable with the breeze being quite gusty at times.
The competition went off smoothly due to the flyers acting in a proffessional manner and also the lack of frequency clashes.
Four rounds were flown with one being dropped.
Four flyers made the final fly off.
Peters plane went OOS on the first flight but you will be glad to hear it was found and in Peters words 'it's repairable'.

7 Cell Glider
5 rounds were flown, in fairly ordinary glider conditions.
However, we had 6 flyers, all from our own club.
The event was an experience for those who took part, because of the
windy weather, and from comments heard, some of our visitors enjoyed seeing
this class in action.
The event is a 5 minute flight, with 1 point scored
per second of flight, with 1 point off for each second of motor run time,
and a further 1 point off for each second over 5 minutes.
While we would have preferred better conditions, for the most part it
was very enjoyable to be able to achieve what we did in that wind.
Even
GREAT.
Some of the impromptu, unintentional aerobatics were definitely not
usual glider antics.
